Way more than just a period.

Rather than a first period or puberty coming as a complete surprise or a negative experience, we want to empower young girls to understand their bodies from an early age, which is why we created Girlhood: The Story - part-journal, part-guide.

As the body reaches puberty and starts to change, moods can start to change more often as well. Getting into the habit of noting how you are feeling is an important part of learning to look after yourself. Our trackers present a creative and interactive way to learn about and practice this.

While most of us have experienced loss of routine and social isolation to varying degrees in recent months, the effects of stress and anxiety can often feel more acute to kids. The impact of not being with friends, of missing out on support from educational professionals, mixed in with feelings of frustration and uncertainty about the future can feel overwhelming.

Especially at times like these, it is important to acknowledge that these feelings are entirely normal and to encourage kids not only to be kind to themselves, but to take steps to look after their wellbeing and to make time for self-reflection.

Along with educational information, our Girlhood journal comes with a period tracker and a mood tracker so kids can get into the habit of tracking the changes associated with puberty, in the lead up to, during and after their first period.
